Nursing: Complex Health Alterations 1 (10-543-109)
Nursing: Complex Health Alterations 1 is a 3 credit, 17-week, third semester nursing course. This course prepares the learner to expand knowledge from previous courses in caring for clients across the life span with alterations in cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, and hematologic systems as well as clients with fluid/ electrolyte and acid-base imbalance, and alterations in comfort.
Introduction to the course syllabus. You can learn more about how the face-to-face course is arranged by reviewing the introductory pages to the syllabus. You will need to purchase the entire syllabus in the bookstore if you are taking the course face-to-face. If you are taking the course online, you can also see the online syllabus.
The first unit is Alterations in Comfort. Some students like to get a jump on the semester. This is the learning plan for the first unit. If you are taking the course online, the main difference in the first learning plan is the presence of discussion boards. Here is an online learning plan for unit 1.

Nursing: Intermediate Clinical Practice (10-543-111)
Nursing: Intermediate Clinical Practice
is a 3 credit, third semester nursing course. The course begins the
6th week of the semester with a Skills Demonstration Day. During
week 7, course and clinical site orientation takes place. Patient
care begins week 8. This intermediate
level clinical course develops the RN role when working with clients with
complex health care needs. A
focus of the course is developing skills needed for managing multiple
clients across the lifespan and priorities.
Using the nursing process students will gain experience in
adapting nursing practice to meet the needs of clients with diverse needs
and backgrounds.
