You need a temporary permit to work at all before you are licensed.
After graduation you sign your name “GN” which means Graduate Nurse.
When you pass NCLEX you can sign your name “RN” which means registered nurse.
You will send in two envelopes to register for licensure
One is to the State Board of Nursing
One is to the testing service
Once the temporary permit is issued it is good for 90 days and then it expires. So, if you want to keep working, you will want to take your NCLEX exam within 3 months

One will be your temporary permit
One
will be your authorization to test
After NCLEX:
If you Passed: - HOORAY!! You are a registered nurse. Congratulations! Don’t forget to renew your license every two years. Don’t let it expire.
