About Me
I am an instructor at Mid-State Technical College in the Criminal Justice program. My experience is based in law enforcement. I was employed full time for the City of Stevens Point Police Department from 1988 until 2001. I held certifications in the areas of dispatch, Emergency Services Squad, hostage negotiations and Police School Liaison Officer. My final position with the department was that of Sergeant where I supervised a patrol shift.
During my service as a police officer I obtained instructor certification as an Emergency Vehicle Operation and Control instructor. I also obtained certification as a motorcycle safety instructor. Instructing in these areas gave me experience in the classroom setting which lead to my interest in becoming an instructor at the associate degree level. During the fall semester of 2001 I gained employment with Mid-State Technical College. I continue to instruct in this capacity and also continue to retain current law enforcement skills through annual up-dates through the Department of Justice and continued employment on a part-time bases with the Village of Plover Police Department.
