Our Mission
AITP offers opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals.
About Us
The Stevens Point student chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) organization originated September of 2000 under the direction of our CIS Instructor, Sherrilee Wallerman. Ms. Wallerman was an active professional member of AITP prior to her employment at Mid-State Technical College. Seeing a need to give her CIS students professional growth opportunities and a better understanding of the day-to-day life of an IT professional, she organized a core group of students to start our chapter.
The student AITP Chapter is part of a national organization and was organized on the Stevens Point Campus to help MSTC students network with IT professionals. Community service projects are included in the Chapter's practice/philosophy.
Our current membership consists of IT Programmer/Analysts, Network Specialists, and Business students.
